Two Double Rooms in Friendly Garden House
Two double bedrooms (one very spacious and one huge) in a massive, three-story Victorian house on a quiet, leafy, residential road near Acton Town, 5 minutes walk to the Piccadilly line. Great for individuals or two friends looking to move in together.
This has been a great house to live in - my partner and I have been here for almost a year and are now moving into our own place.
You’ll be sharing a 220 squared meter house (over 2,600 squared feet) with a wonderful, sociable, international bunch from all over - France, Italy, USA and local England. They're professionals in education, television, security, and one of them is a masters student in politics. The house has been established over time with most people moving in as individuals; we enjoy each other’s company and we are looking for someone who’s interested in being part of the house. The current age range is 23-29.
As it's a big house we are conscious of this and respect each other’s personal space and maintain a high standard of cleanliness in communal areas.
The Rooms
Room 1
This double room is very bright and spacious, boasting two windows, plenty of space for a bookcase, and a decorative fireplace. The room is furnished with a double bed frame and mattress. It also comes with its own spacious, floor-to ceiling cupboard in the corridor for storage. Available around 15 October.
Room 2
This is the largest bedroom in the house, and the largest I have seen in London. It comes with a built-in wardrobe and shelves, as well as its own cupboard in the corridor for storage. It boasts two large windows and a decorative fireplace. This room is unfurnished but the bed frame could be purchased from the current tenant. Available around 15 October.
Benefits
Although we like to keep the house in a good state we have a cleaner who comes weekly for communal bathrooms and a deep clean of the kitchen - which is included in the bills. This used to be the landlord’s family home, so it doesn’t feel like a rented house. It is located on a quiet leafy road with almost no traffic and has:
The biggest kitchen I’ve ever seen in a London house (superbly equipped; think American-style fridge freezer, Range Master oven, washing machine)
Great sized living room with two comfortable sofas and a TV
A huge grassy garden with a patio (great for beers, enjoying the weather, and barbecues)
A dining room that comfortably seats 12 (if you like to throw dinner parties, or are working from home)
Separate laundry room with brand-new washing machine and a dryer
Three toilets, two showers and a bathtub
What’s in the local area:
A 5-minute walk to Acton Town tube station (Piccadilly, District) and a Sainsbury’s local
An 8-minute walk to a large Morrison's and Lidl a little further
10-minute walk to the Aeronaut, a very nice pub with pub quizzes, live comedy, huge outdoor area and circus shows
15-minute walk or 5-minute cycle to Gunnersbury park
35-minutes door-to-door to Heathrow, 35 minutes to central London
What you need to pay:
The deposit is £800 per room.
Rent is £825 pcm for room 1 and £860 for room 2
There is a tenancy name change fee of £50 pp
